Diversity & Inclusion Consultant, Strategist, Author & Speaker
Organization: Joseph Santana LLC
Joe’s unique and highly effective approach is the result of his broad background, including running a profitable NYC-based, $48 million dollar-a-year, 300-employee business and leading a national training and organizational development team responsible for a 5,000-employee engineering company. In his last corporate role as Siemens’ first Diversity Officer, he applied these skills as the architect of their rapidly successful 65,000 USA employee practice. His accomplishments include launching a national governance organization, creating and implementing a diversity-and-inclusion sustainability model, and establishing a platform that enabled the company to grow over 60 employee resource groups, 3 national networks, and 11 diversity councils; these accomplishments resulted in measureable people and business benefits. Today, Joe invests his wealth of experience as a speaker, coach, and consultant to help his clients accelerate their steps toward success.
In a parallel career as an author, he’s written thousands of articles, including feature pieces for Diversity Executive Magazine, as well as white papers and books that have been published in several languages across several continents, such as Asia, Europe, and Africa. A sought after media commentator, Joe has been quoted in numerous magazines and books, including Thomas Friedman’s best seller, “The World is Flat.”
For his work as a thought-leader, Joe has received a number of prestigious awards, including a Diversity Officer Leadership Award from Diversity Best Practices, a listing among the “Most Important Hispanics in Technology, Government and Business” by Career Communications Group, Inc. in 2010 and again in 2011, as well as a place on Hispanic Business Magazine’s 2011 list of the “100 Most Influential Hispanics.”
