Michelle CoussensMs. Coussens has been named Marketing Director at Capsim Management Simulations, Inc. Reporting to the president, she sets marketing and sales strategies while also working with client relationship services, product design, and program delivery. Since its founding in 1985, Capsim has been a global leader in business simulation technology and services.

For over seven years, Ms. Coussens has also owned Plan B Consulting, focused on business planning, market analysis, and competitive intelligence, as well as associated training for the American Management Association and NeighborWorks(R) America. She has published more than 90 monthly issues of her newsletter, Planning Possibilities, which is distributed worldwide to more than 3,000 contacts.

While consulting, Michelle became the Dean of the School of Business at Kendall College. She built and managed all aspects of the Business School, including faculty and curriculum selection and assessment, as well as program development.

While working at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, Michelle also taught at DePaul University as an adjunct instructor. Before that, she spent fifteen years working at CNA. She performed technical roles, ran operations, developed new products, and has also published research regarding financial literacy in various academic publications.

In 2012, she was appointed to the prestigious Northwestern Council of 100 and became the founding chair of the Illinois Diversity Council Board of Directors. She is also a member of The Executives Club of Chicago. Previously, she served on the advisory board of Provena Pine View Care Center and on the Chicago Women in Publishing Board.

Ms. Coussens holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics from Northwestern University and a Masters in Business Administration, with a concentration in Marketing, from DePaul University. Watch for Michelle’s upcoming book on business planning for the female entrepreneur, expected in late 2013.
