Finding the “I” in Entrepreneurship: Celebrating the Diversity of Intrapreneurs

This session uncovers the impact that a diverse group of innovators can have on an organization. We will look at Intrapreneurship in the workplace; how it is fostered and developed in the workplace; along with the 7 silent killers of Intrapreneurial spirit in an organization. This category of diversity blends in with the intersection between corporate diversity and supplier diversity. Most organizations are built on intrapreneurial spirit, but slowly regress because they fail to support it.

This session is taught by Jennifer Thibeaux, who has extensive work in the area of Entrepreneurship. Her list of accomplishments/work includes:

  • Established an Entrepreneurship-Corporate Executive-Attorney Triad Mentorship Model
  • Hosted Entrepreneurship Leadership Conferences across the country to promote Entrepreneurship in New Places
  • Worked with the Gallup organization along with the global non profit organization Operation HOPE, Inc.to measure the economic energy and entrepreneurial spirit of youth grades 5-12.
  • Developed youth entrepreneurship curriculum (“Entrepreneurship NOW!”) designed for grades 7-12 to spark entrepreneurial spirit and bring the dream of entrepreneurship to reality for young people
  • Served as an Executive Officer of the Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce
  • Successfully founded a small business – Primary Consulting LLC (in its 9th year of existence)
  • Worked with global organizations such as Deloitte & Touche LLP, Jones Lang LaSalle, The Staubach Company, Allstate Insurance Company, AIG, ConAgra Foods, American Airlines, and more in a variety of capacities centered around human performance and diversity.

We will also explore the importance of influencing senior leadership buy-in and support, focusing on effective tactics to get leadership commitment including ways to engage white males.
