DiversityFIRST™ Certification Program

In response to demand by our many national and state partners, and based upon the overwhelming success of the inaugural CDP program, the National Diversity Council is pleased to offer the 2016 DiversityFIRST™ Certification Program in Texas, California, and Florida.

The DiversityFIRST™ Certification Program prepares qualified professionals to create and implement highly successful D&I strategies for organizational excellence and a competitive edge in today‚Äôs global marketplace. The program blends theory and practice during a 5-day intensive curriculum and on-going professional development within the graduate network.

Graduates of the program are recognized as a NDCCDP (National Diversity Council Certified Diversity Professional).

Target Audience

The target audience for the DiversityFIRST™ Certification Program includes professionals working in the D&I field and any other professionals across industries with an interest in the field.

Prerequisites

Participants are expected to complete assigned readings and arrive prepared to actively engage in classroom discussions. All participants will be provided password access to the DiversityFIRST™ Toolkit, which is the primary repository of selected articles and readings required, prior to the actual classroom instruction. Successful completion of the program requires mastery of both the pre-assigned readings and the classroom curriculum.

Area of Focus

The DiversityFIRST™ Certification Program includes five diversity domains covering more than 20 modules and the Graduate Network component:

  • The Business Case for Diversity and Inclusion
  • Cultural Competence
  • Measurement and Accountability
  • Inclusive Leadership
  • Best Practices in Diversity and Inclusion
  • Graduate Network Component

Program Evaluation

  • Completion of pre-work
  • Completion of class projects during 5 day classroom study
  • Multiple-choice exam
