Washington Diversity Council Honors Exceptional Leaders at the Inaugural LGBT Roundtable and Awards
Seattle, WA – –The Washington Diversity Council is proud to announce the Washington LGBT Roundtable and Awards hosted by Davis Wright Tremaine LLP on June 9, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. This event presents resources and information to elevate the conversation regarding workplace equality. Participants will have the opportunity to share best practices in order to advance LGBT policies within their own organizations. In addition to sharing useful information, this event will also reward LGBT advocates and leaders for their unwavering commitment to equality. The theme of this year’s roundtable is “Breaking Barriers: Moving from Awareness to Advocacy.
“The LGBT Roundtable is an amazing event that highlights the importance of workplace equality and recognizes the dedicated individuals that work hard to make inclusion possible,” said Dennis Kennedy, Founder & Chair of the National Diversity Council. “We are proud to honor these leaders who continue to break barriers and achieve great success in the face of adversity.”
The roundtable will open with registration, breakfast, and networking from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. During the awards breakfast, a select group of attendees will be recognized with the LGBT Leadership Award. The LGBT Leadership Award is reserved for individuals that serve as role models within the LGBT community and strive to promote inclusiveness within the workplace. Following the award presentation, attendees and panelist participate in a collaborative discussion regarding workplace equality. Participants will also have the chance to share their thoughts during an open question and answer session.
