With regard to ongoing developments around COVID-19, the National Diversity Council is ensuring safeguards are in place for events. At this time, several of our events are being postponed for later dates. In certain markets, some events will be held virtually. The health and safety of our attendees are our number one priority.
The CDC just announced their recommendation to cancel or postpone events with 50 or more people until May 8, 2020. The National Diversity Council will continue to be proactive in concern to the health and safety of all of our event attendees for all Summer, Fall, and Winter events. With guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), these are the precautions in place to keep our attendees and speakers safe and healthy:
- Hand Sanitizer – There will be multiple hand sanitizer stations throughout the venue (i.e., at registration tables; seating tables; head table)
- Refrain from Shaking Hands – In order to help keep all of our event attendees and participants as safe as possible, please refrain from shaking hands or getting into close physical contact with fellow attendees at the event. Please also be sure to wash/sanitize your hands regularly.
- Personal Health and Hygiene: Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Our facilities have soap installed in all locations. If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, stay home and contact your doctor. Most people who become infected experience mild illness and recover, but it can be more severe for others. Contact your doctor before visiting an office or hospital in order to avoid potentially spreading the virus.
The National Diversity Council will communicate relevant updates via our websites and social media platforms. In the meantime, we hope this message provides reassurance. Again we thank you all for your continuous support of the National Diversity Council’s mission to advocate for the value of diversity and inclusion.
