National Diversity Council
Tahra Taylor has been affiliated with the Texas Diversity Council since its inception and currently serves as the Director of Human Resources for the National Diversity Council, where she provides advice and expertise regarding strategy, structure, management, and policy. She also serves as a liaison to the Texas Diversity Council for events and programs.
Prior to joining the National Diversity Council, Tahra worked as a Human Resources Business Partner and built her vast experience with Fortune 500 companies, including AmerisourceBergen Corporation, The Dallas Morning News, Texaco, Inc., and Entergy Services, Inc. At these organizations, Tahra directed
performance effectiveness for her client groups through talent development, succession planning, employee engagement, talent acquisition, diversity and inclusion, and performance management. Most recently, she worked at Mercer, LLC in the area of compensation. She served in the Peace Corps as a Business Advisor in Guatemala and on the Board of Directors for Literacy Instruction for Texas (LIFT) in Dallas for six years in various leadership positions, including President. She is currently serving as a founding member of the Young Professional Board of Family Houston.
As a native of New Orleans, Tahra earned a Master of Business Administration from Tulane University and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Xavier University of Louisiana. She is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) through the Human Resources Certification Institute and a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) through the Society for Human Resource Management.
